 Dear Colleagues,

The Laboratory for Fluorescence Dynamics (LFD) invites you to attend
the advanced
workshop <https://www.lfd.uci.edu/workshop/registration/>, which outlines
the advanced concepts of fluorescence imaging techniques and
instrumentation.

There will be up to 6 registration waivers for students. The winners will
have the opportunity to present their work as a poster during the workshop.

The workshop consists of:

 1) advanced theoretical lectures by LFD scientists and invited speakers.
 2) computer based training on data analysis and simulations using Globals
for Images software (students actively engage in problem solving through
simulations and analysis of real data)
 3) hands on laboratory training using the fluorescence microscopy
instrumentation of the LFD facility.
4) Students present group presentations on the method, theory and
experiments done during the workshop

The workshop is designed for students who use fluorescence microscopy
instrumentation and techniques, as well as for researchers and industrial
scientists who intend to extend their knowledge of these fields.

Topics on the agenda:

Single Point and Scanning Fluorescence Correlation Spectroscopy (FCS)
    Image Correlation Spectroscopy (ICS, RICS)
Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging (FLIM), the Phasor analysis
Förster Resonance Energy Transfer (FRET) FLIM/FRET
    Number and Brightness (N&B)
    Pair Correlation Function (pCF)
Particle Tracking (PT) in three dimensions
    Deep tissue imaging, DIVER
    Single plane illumination microscopy (SPIM)
    Image Mean Square Displacement (iMSD)
Data analysis and simulations using Globals for Images · SimFCS software

For more information please go to the LFD webpage:

Best regards,
Michelle
