2-day international imaging conference in York

2-day international imaging conference in York in April 2009 covering multiphoton and MRI imaging technologies:

Imaging the Immune System: From Cancer to Pathogens

Merchant Adventurers Hall, York, April 15-16, 2009.

The immune system is dynamic involving the rapid movement of immune cells from blood to secondary lymphoid tissues and peripheral tissues. There is great excitement in immunology and cancer biology in the application of multiphoton microscopy, PET and MRI to understanding the molecular and cellular basis of pathogen and tumour clearance by the immune system, induction of long term immunity and autoimmune pathology.  In this meeting we will bring together experts utilizing imaging technologies to understand the molecular and cellular mechanism of immune system function and developing novel cancer therapies.  There will be a particular focus on multiphoton microscopy:

Speakers include:  Imaging the Immune System: Daniel Davis (Imperial), Lauren Ehlich (Stanford), Ron Germain (NIH) and Peter O'Toole (York)
Imaging Immune Responses: Kevin Brindle (Camrbridge),  Jens Stein (Theodor Kocher), Philippe Bousso (Pasteur), Imaging Immune System – Pathogen Interactions: Matthais Gunzer (University Magdeburg), Paul Kaye(York), James Brewer(Strathclyde), Immune Tumour interactions: Mark Coles (York), Neil Carragher (AstraZeneca), Erik Sahai (LRI, CRUK), Mathew Krummel  (UCSF) Imaging from mice to humans: Carl Figdor (Nigmegen), Christopher Contag (Stanford)
