Hi,
This is Tai-Yen from Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at
Cornell University. We are using 561nm laser for our super-resolution
imaging study. Currently we are using the 75mW 561nm laser from Crystalaser
(CL561-075) to probe our red fluorescent protein. I have been operating this
laser for about 9 months since I received it, recently we observe a
significant power drop of this laser, once the laser is turned on, it will
reach its max power output (~72mW) for 10-20 seconds and drops to around
5-20mW for hours. The company says 561nm is a more sensitive wavelength and
the heat sink maybe not good enough in our case. However, I am pretty sure
the heat sink is fine because my other lasers with the same heat sink work
just fine. Does anyone have the same issue with your 561 nm laser, how do
you fix it?? if in the worst case that I need to buy a new 561nm laser, what
company or what laser model will you recommend?
Thanks for your help.
