In fact the A1 and A1R systems are exclusively made for the live cell
imaging and molecular interaction studies. The system comes with speed and
flexibility. Most of the salient features of the C1si Spectral Confocal
System is introduced her with this model.
However certain features are enhanced like the spectral detection system.
Like C1si, this system has spectral detector for concurrent acquisition of
up to 32 channels. Three spectral resolutions are available 2.5nm, 6nm and
10nm. Simultaneous excitation using up to four laser lines can be achieved
with frames speeds of two fps at 512 x 512 pixel resolution, or as fast as
16 fps at 512 x 64 pixels.
The linear unmixing high-speed data processing algorithms enable fast and
accurate unmixing during image acquisition in less than a second enabling
the real time live spectral confocal imaging.
Most importantly, the scan head is designed in such a way that there won't
be any sort of heat induced noise interference. Like other Nikon family
confocal systems, A1 comes with separate scan head and detector to avoid
thermal interference on the detection system. Innovative features like,
V-filtering, Hybrid scanner and VAAS Detection enables better resolution and
faster speed.
I feel more technical features will come to light when the systems are used
for wide range of applications.
Gene Maverick.
