Take advantage of the collegial environment to network and share ideas about instrumentation, reagents, methods and the challenges of running a shared resource. Bring your sunglasses and come see the bright future of imaging. Plenary speaker: Julie Theriot, U.W. The Allen Institute Meeting topics include: . Electron Microscopy: adding cryoEM . Imaging Organoids, Exploiting New Dimensions in Cell Culture . Clear MAP & Large Data Visualization . A Practical Guide to Quantitative FLIM/FRET . Open-Mic (submit an abstract for a chance to give a talk and get a free meeting registration) . Journals, Cores & Reproducibility . Light microscopy research group (LMRG) Pre-meeting hands-on Fluorescent Probes workshop- limited class size- register early! Major drivers of advances include: . Development of genetic and molecular tools compatible with both live and fixed cell microscopy including biosensors and fluorescent protein tags and probes that report on numerous aspects of the state of the cell, tissue or animal. . Hardware improvements that have catalyzed the development of fast, automated microscopes/imagers . Major innovations in the software for image analysis, which have enabled facile extraction of quantitative measurements. However, it all begins with the selecting the right probe for the question. This workshop will focus on discussion of topics at the leading edge of advances of fluorescence probes, with an emphasis on the latest developments in the development and application of new probes for exploring the structure and function of living cells, and high through-put imaging pipelines, but will include probe selection from single molecule to intravital imaging.
