The ISAC Scholars Program (ISP) is designed to enhance the scientific and leadership experiences of scientific research leaders in the field of cytometry. ISAC is seeking Scholars specializing in state of the art biomedicine, technology, and other areas of emerging sciences relevant to cytometry. The ISP is designed as a career development program for those under the age of 40 on the date of the application. The program provides opportunities for leadership training, mentorship training with another Society member, presentation opportunities, financial support for membership of ISAC (Society), and to attend the annual society CYTO conference as well as other valuable professional development activities. ISAC Scholars are expected to be an integral part of the Society through committee memberships, advisory boards and various taskforces, reviewing manuscripts submitted to Cytometry, Part A (the official journal of ISAC), and creating educational material to further support the goals of ISAC. Being chosen as an ISAC Scholar is an indication that you are recognized for your scientific skills, research accomplishments, leadership potential and ability to achieve your career goals. This five-year program provides Scholars with complimentary membership in the Society, a subscription to Cytometry Part A plus complimentary registration and partial travel funds to attend the annual CYTO conference. All Scholar applications are reviewed by the ISAC Scholars Program Committee (ISPC) of society leaders. Awards of ISAC Scholar are highly competitive and typically awarded to the top 10% of applicants. Leaders or prospective leaders in the field of cytometry whose role is primarily operating a shared resource laboratory or educational program should instead apply to the Shared Resource Laboratory Emerging Leaders (SRL EL) Program at http://isac-net.org/ISAC-Cytometry/ISAC-SRL-Emerging-Leaders-Program-(1).aspx<https://online.isac-net.org/isacssa/ecmssamsganalytics.click_through?p_mail_id=E137264A986814B1C111020> which has an application deadline of Dec. 15, 2014. The ISPC reserves the right to forward ISP applications to the SRL EL Program. Five documents must be submitted: * This completed application form. * A full copy of your CV listing all publications with your name underlined, grants supporting your work and indicating your level of participation within the grant, its monetary value and the years of financial support, presentations, abstracts, honors and awards. * Two letters of reference: one from your supervisor or director and one from an ISAC member who is not your supervisor or director. In addition, the letter from your supervisor or director must indicate your current status and the number of years you have been in that status (e.g. graduate student, postdoctoral fellow, junior faculty). * A 2-4-page exposition describing your goals as a scientist and how ISAC could assist in these goals. Submission Instructions: To apply to be a 2015-2019 ISAC Scholar, you must make sure all of your application and supporting materials are received by Wednesday, January 15, 2015.
