Dear all,
We would like to draw your attention again to our FEBS Advanced Course "Functional imaging of cellular signals"
being held 11 to 16 June 2017 at the van Leeuwenhoek Centre for Advanced Microscopy, Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
The ability of cells to perceive and correctly respond to their environment is the basis of development, tissue repair and immunity as well as normal tissue homeostasis. Errors in cell signalling are responsible for many diseases. In order to understand cell signalling, microscopic techniques can be used to elucidate signal complex composition, organization and dynamics. This practical advanced course will provide participants the theoretical background and give hands-on experience of state-of-the-art microscopy techniques under guidance of experts in the field. The practical part will be accompanied by international speakers presenting their work on developing and applying microscopy tools to answer biological questions in cellular signals.
Techniques covered: Confocal, TIRF and spinning-disk microscopy, FRAP, FLIM, biosensor FRET & FCS.
For this FEBS practical course there are some Youth Travel Fund (YTF) grants available for PhD students and young postdoctoral scientists to (partly) finance participation.
For detailed information, please have a look at
http://www.microscopycourse.nl. Deadline for registration is March 15th.
If you have any questions regarding the course, please contact Mark Hink (

On behalf of the organizing committee,
Mark Hink
