Microscopy Product Specialist

Job Summary:
Assists microscopy customers with specific applications of the
instrumentation.  Provides installation and customer training of microscopy
instrumentation.  


Duties:
The person will work within the microscopy group in developing applications for
fluorescence microscopy and testing new software and new accessories
and/or new products pertinent to the ISS microscopy fluorescence line, which
includes the Fluorescence Correlation Spectrometer and the Confocal Lifetime
Imaging Spectrometer.  He/she will work closely with the team members
working in engineering and in software development, as well as with the
marketing team.

1.  Customer support activities
• Instruments demos in house and at customer sites
• Instruments installations and customer training
• Development of training courses in microscopy
• Participation in trade shows and/or conferences related to the field
of application
• Organization of workshops in fluorescence microscopy

2.  Testing and/or development of new accessories for ISS fluorescence
microscopes
• Testing of FCS systems
• Testing of Lifetime Imaging systems
• Testing of accessories
• Establishing quality parameters for the products
• Establishing functional testing procedures for the assuring adherence
to the quality standards

3. Testing and/or development of new software for ISS fluorescence
microscopes
• Testing of FCS systems
• Testing of Lifetime Imaging systems
• Testing of computer-controlled accessories

4.  Marketing Support
• Development of technical literature pertinent to fluorescence
microscopy applications
• Organization of papers and literature pertinent to microscopy
applications



Qualifications:
The candidate has a MS/Ph.D. degree in physics/chemistry/engineering and/or
life sciences with extended experience in microscopy.  

Location:
The job location is Champaign, Illinois.
