I have an earlier generation in my core, when it was branded BD CARVII, on
a Zeiss Axiovert200M with a Hamamatsu ORCA CCD camera.
Since it doesn't have microlenses on the pinholes and it uses a lamp, not
lasers, the light throughput is horrible. I've only used it with extremely
bright specimens. The new designs are quite different; I would compare to
Yokogawa spinning disks.
It has been extremely reliable and robust. I use it for the filters and
move the spinning disc out of the light path routinely and very easily
thorough software. It is at least 10 years old and never had a problem.
