Assistant, Associate and Full-Professorships in Biological Chemistry, Biophysics and Bioengineering.

The School of Engineering and Physical Sciences seeks to make academic appointments within the Institute of Biological Chemistry, Biophysics and Bioengineering (www.ib3.eps.hw.ac.uk). This is an exciting and vibrant new Research Institute with an excellent funding base and world-class facilities for synthetic chemistry, biochemistry, cell biology, imaging at all scales using multiple cutting edge methods, tissue engineering and bioprocessing as well as the infrastructure to enable cross- disciplinary collaboration.

Applications are welcomed from enthusiastic individuals who are highly motivated, with a strong research track record in one or more of the following areas:

Chair in Biophysics – REF EPS/BIO4

            -  Development of novel microscopy techniques

            -  Biophotonics

            -  Development of probes, sensors and novel therapeutics

            -  Single molecule biophysics 


Assistant or Associate Professorship in Biological Chemistry, Biophysics and/or Synthetic Biology – REF EPS/BIO1

            -  Synthetic organic chemistry for biological applications

            -  Development of probes, sensors and novel therapeutics

            -  Use of photonics to probe molecular structures and behaviours 


Assistant or Associate Professorship in Biomedical Engineering – REF EPS/BIO2

            -  Cell-based tissue engineering

            -  Biomaterials and scaffold for cell encapsulation, differentiation and expansion.

            -  Enabling technologies for regenerative medicine 


Assistant or Associate Professorship in Medical Diagnostic Device Engineering – REF EPS/BIO3

-  Bioelectronics/device fabrication

-  Medical diagnostic devices

-  Cell based biosensors
