Job Announcement, Imaging Core Manager

I am posting this on behalf of the Core.  Please do not contact me.

The Johns Hopkins Ross Imaging Core is looking for a candidate to fill the position of Laboratory Manager.  The imaging core is part of the greater, NIDDK funded, Basic and Translational Research Center.  The expected individual will have a background in biophysics, chemistry or biology and have attained a BS degree at a minimum.  The candidate should have at least 3 years of experience utilizing advanced microscope based imaging systems.  Practical experience of managing a core is a plus.  To translate, this means you are strong enough to say NO, generous enough to say YES and wise enough to know the difference.  You are here to assist the local research community.  Computer skills are a must.  This includes maintenance, repair and interfacing systems to imaging hardware.  The core has many of the basics, multiphoton, spinning disks and point scanning confocals, camera based imaging rigs, spectrophotometers and fluorescent plate readers.  We also have an Olympus Imaging Suite which you will work with the local Olympus representative to maintain.  The Core’s website is linked below.  You can find a list of equipment there along with their makes and models (mostly Olympus and Zeiss).  The website is also your responsibility.  This is a senior staff level position with great benefits and appropriate salary.  Please email the Core director, Olga Kovbasnjuk PhD, with your contact information and CV.
