Dear List,

has anybody ever built a TIRF system using an Axicon zoom system to produce an annular ring of excitation at the BFP?

Thanks!

Jens

Hi Jens,
you might want to get in touch with Derek Toomre at Yale - he has just such a system, and it is still in active use in his lab. I can't find the paper at present, but  it has since been licensced to GE - the patent is available here: Patent EP1941313A2 - An optical system for illumination of an evanescent field
