When we try to log into LaserSharp 2000 we receive the following error message: "Failed to get Host Adapter info from PAPI. Contact BioRad support. This failure indicates that the Firewire driver is not operational. Close LaserSharpe 2000 run 1394 diagnostic." When we try to run the 1394 diagnostic found on the computer nothing appears to happen. We suspect the firewire board is broken and are ordering a replacement in the interim. We've also downloaded new drivers for the board and will try them shortly. Any insights into this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading about our problem! |

BioRad made us order a special board from a company in Australia because they said that it needed to draw extra power (it plugged into the power cables used for the HDs) and the software made calls specific to it. Whether this was really necessary I don't know, but I tried a really cheap firewire card anyhow which did not work. _________________________________________ Michael Cammer, Assistant Research Scientist Skirball Institute of Biomolecular Medicine Lab: (212) 263-3208 Cell: (914) 309-3270 ________________________________________ From: Confocal Microscopy List [[hidden email]] on behalf of Matthew Bouchard [[hidden email]] Sent: Wednesday, August 01, 2012 4:22 PM To: [hidden email] Subject: Bio-rad LaserSharp 2000 Firewire problem ***** To join, leave or search the confocal microscopy listserv, go to: http://lists.umn.edu/cgi-bin/wa?A0=confocalmicroscopy ***** Hello, We are trying to refurbish an old Bio-rad Radiance system here at Columbia and have run into a problem with the firewire system.
