Many of you may already be aware of this new network, whose broad goal is to better integrate the imaging community across the North American continent (Canada, the USA and Mexico), and to link up with similar networks already established across many countries worldwide, as well as globally (Global BioImaging).Like these other networks, our aim is to increase collaboration, cooperation and interaction between facilities, staff scientists, faculty, post-docs and students that live in the world of imaging for the life sciences. Our areas of interest include: ·Facilitating the sharing of rare or unique resources; ·Coordinating exchange schemes for staff scientists between centers to promote training, equipment testing and technique development; ·Organizing microscopy-focused meetings, workshops and courses, both regional and national, for education and exchange of experience; ·Supporting career development of imaging scientists. We will undoubtedly be drawing on the considerable experience of our friends and colleagues in other worldwide imaging consortia to kickstart this community effort in a way that is most beneficial to all. As we will submit grants to support the development of the network soon, *we hope you will choose to join BINA today* and demonstrate your enthusiasm for this exciting new endeavor! To join, please fill out a simple form via the following link: https://www.bioimagingna.org/apply We also strongly encourage you to send us information about upcoming courses and meetings that can be posted on the BINA site (via the Activities page). With thanks and best wishes from us all, The BINA Executive Committee Claire Brown (McGill, Montreal, Canada) Meredith Calvert (Gladstone Institutes, USA) Teng-Leong Chew (HHMI Janelia Research Campus, USA) Richard Cole (Wadsworth Center/Albany, USA) Kevin Eliceiri (U. Wisconsin, Madison, USA) Alison North (Rockefeller University, USA) Simon Watkins (U. Pittsburgh, USA) Chris Wood (UNAM, Mexico) |
