Dear Colleague,
After two successful years in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the Quantitative
BioImaging conference will be held in Paris, 7-9 January 2015 at the
Institut Pasteur.

Jean-Christophe Olivo Marin (Institut Pasteur), Charles Kervrann (Inria
Rennes) and Jean Salamero (Institut Curie) will head the organization
committee for next year’s conference.

While the last conference had an emphasis on single molecule microscopy,
for the upcoming meeting we also welcome contributions from other areas of
microscopy. We are planning extensive overview lectures on a number of
important areas and hope to be dealing with these topics in a more
substantial way than what can be typically done. A major goal of the
organization of the conference is to allow for significant interactions
amongst the participants.

We are now accepting abstracts for the upcoming 2015 meeting. The deadline
for abstract submission is October 15th. be Please see our website
www.QuantitativeBioImaging.com for details to submit an abstract.

Looking forward to seeing you in Paris very early next year.

Best Regards,
The organizers.

Dear Dr Ram

It is somewhat concerning to see that the organizing committee consists of only male scientists. Such single gender leadership has often led to a meeting that lacks gender diversity and thus is not as excellent as it could be.

To help you identify outstanding women speakers/scientists that could be used in your planning - as you choose organizers and speakers - the Women in Cell Biology Committee (which I chair) of the American Society for Cell biology (ASCB) has established the Speaker Referral Service. This peer-reviewed list consists of the names and topics of women who have been chosen to give talks at the annual meeting of the ASCB and is easily accessed at
http://ascb.org/women-in-cell-biology/speaker-referral-service<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v1/url?u=http://ascb.org/women-in-cell-biology/speaker-referral-service&k=PFsgZv%2B4TEaU9fTpAWpLNw%3D%3D%0A&r=IGqLNS1u0q9a0AAhllGlxRDc%2F9Iq0j6oqFCJkYkKXgU%3D%0A&m=7h0AXUoJ9857agTZept%2BcTglHdDaFW8LgtRXW%2Ffn7CA%3D%0A&s=7d63216f67afff5992c8c4295b0691cdf8a788a5ac27ec87752d7eb20280ea19>

Please let me know if we can help you in any way to improve your meeting by identifying outstanding women scientists who you can recruit.

Best regards,

Sandy,
Sandra K. Masur, PhD
