CellTracker green CMFDA

Dear list,

Does someone know if Drosophila S2 cells possess the esterase needed for
CellTracker green CMFDA or orange CMRA to fluoresce, or, more generally, do
these cells work with these dyes?

Any information, or a small aliquot if someone in Houston, TX, can spare it,
is greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much,

Mei

Re: CellTracker green CMFDA

Dear Zhengmei,

CMFDA works well with dinoflagellate algae, a group that sits _far_ out on
the eukaryotic tree, so the necessary esterase activity should also exist
in Drosophila.

All the best,
