Cells come out of the Dark Age

 

Cell Guidance Systems (www.cellgs.com) launched a new range of cell culture
reagents which allows cells in culture to be kept alive during intense or
prolonged exposure to light.

 

For some techniques, including FACS, live cell imaging and optogenetics, it
is necessary to expose cells in culture to high levels of light for
prolonged periods. Standard available cell culture media in the market
contain some components that become cytotoxic by exposure to light.
LiveLight™ reagents have been formulated specifically for light exposure,
allowing the maintenance of cell viability throughout all the experiment.
