We are currently looking for an Advanced Bio-Systems Application Scientist to provide technical expertise in all areas of advanced microscopy applications to support Nikon’s Product Marketing Division and Nikon’s direct and dealer distribution networks. They will act as the primary conduit for technical information and feedback between the end user, PIR’s, sales network and Nikon’s product team, for the purpose of providing feedback to the factory engineers on: product applications, product acceptance, competitive changes, required product improvements, new technologies and methodologies that impact Nikon's present and future business. Additionally, they will provide the sales force with technical assistance on advanced bio applications to successfully satisfy customer's needs and complete the sale. and act as the primary informational resource for emerging applications and technologies, by keeping current in the scientific literature. Scientist will write scientific publications, present at symposia and meetings on application methodologies and emerging technologies, create training curriculum on advanced and emerging applications, and work with the National Applications team to conduct High Tech training workshops in advanced techniques and applications. Ideal candidate must possess a Ph.D. in BioSciences, Bioengineering, or Physics with optics specialty and 8 + years experience in light microscopy, specifically in advanced BioScience technologies, including but not limited to, Super Resolution, Confocal Microscopy, TIRF microscopy. Candidate should have extensive knowledge of light microscopy and advanced Bio-Science technologies as well as extensive knowledge in optics, imaging and software applications. Excellent quantitative, presentation, verbal and written communication skills are essential to the success of this position. Travel up to 20% to fulfill Essential and Ancillary functions (includes overnight travel) is required.
