Visiopharm image analysis software has become the preferred Quantitative Digital Pathology solution for leading biopharmaceutical companies, contract research organizations (CRO), academic medical centers, research institutes, and hospitals worldwide. Visiopharm is currently seeking to expand its team in North America.  The role we are hiring for is Technical Sales Specialist (job description and application instructions follow).
TECHNICAL SALES SPECIALIST

JOB DESCRIPTION

The primary responsibility of a Technical Sales Specialist will be to assist designated
Sales Professionals (e.g. Domain Specialists, Sales Directors) within a given territory
with all technical aspects of the sales process including, but not limited to technical
qualification of opportunities, software demonstrations, development of Proof-ofConcept
APPs, and the management of technical software trials and evaluations.
The goal is for the Technical Sales Specialist to contribute to the sales opportunities
of designated Sales Professionals to reach targets. If needed, a Technical Sales
Specialist may be asked to independently manage/grow sales opportunities in an
assigned territory through direct and in-direct sales channels.

TECHNICAL SALES RESPONSIBILITIES

  *   Development of Proof-of-Concept image analysis protocols
     *   Using our image analysis platform to solve a specific problem presented by a potential

customer.

  *   Tracking of all proof-of-concept and other APPs in JIRA.
  *   As applicable, transfer APPs and information to Visiopharm Image Analysis Core and/or
  *   Professional Services.
•     Technical Demonstrations

  *   Support our sales team with technical demonstration of our software via web and/or
on-site demonstrations.
•     Managing Technical Software Evaluations/Trials

  *   Providing an overview of training to support the trial and/or evaluation
• Answering technical questions via phone, e-mail, web sessions for prospective sales
opportunities and the sales professional.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  *   Providing technical sales support for new business opportunities in the assigned territory.
  *   Work in compliance with the structured sales process developed by Visiopharm.
  *   Follow-up with customers during pre- and post-sales efforts to ensure strong customer

relationships.

  *   Anticipate the technical needs and requirements for prospective and current customer

opportunities.

  *   Contribute to top-line business growth by helping Sales Professional(s) meet or exceeding sales expectations; if needed, manage own opportunities to reach targets.

  *   Provide feedback from current and potential customers to enhance products and services.
  *   Articulate complex technical ideas in a simple way to prospective customers.
  *   Understand customer objections and solve problems in complex environment, in a professional

and timely manner.

  *   Understand the market segments in which Visiopharm operates and how our products and

services are used within each market segment.

  *   Maintain company’s contact management database (CRM) with accurate, up-to-date contact

and activity details.

  *   Accurately complete and maintain all APP development in JIRA in an orderly and timely fashion.
  *   Produce monthly reports on APP development, evaluations, etc in collaboration with

Management.

  *   Interact with VP of Technical Sales when required for additional assistance on APP development

and general software questions.

  *   Accurately complete and maintain sales forecast and other records in an orderly and timely

fashion.

  *   Participate in monitoring and reporting on the activities of competitors, potential collaborators,

and identify business opportunities.

  *   Acquire, maintain, and expand knowledge of Visiopharm products, competitive landscape, and

the market to meet the customers’ technical needs.

  *   Attend prioritized trade exhibitions, workshops, user group meetings, etc.
  *   Perform other related duties as assigned.



REQUIREMENTS

  *   As a minimum a bachelor’s degree in life sciences or another relevant Bachelors of Science.
  *   Proven experience working with image analysis software.
  *   Experience with Matlab and/or Python preferred.
  *   A minimum of 3 years as scientist, technical product specialist, application scientist in the life

sciences with a documented track-record of supporting sales, establishing and maintaining

strong customer relationships and/or the management of technical product lines.

  *   An established, relevant network of contacts within the life science community.
  *   Willingness to travel and work with a global team of professionals.
  *   Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  *   Successful track record of working in an organized and independent fashion.
  *   Strong interpersonal skills to build close relationships with customers and coworkers.
  *   Must be team player within a growing, agile company.
  *   Able to operate in a fast-paced and evolving market environment.
  *   Always act in a professional manner when representing the company.
  *   Computer proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
