Advances in neuroscience: New methods for correlating structure and function
Thursday May 5 2016
8AM PDT, 11AM EDT, 4PM BST, 5PM CEST
Nature.com Webcast sponsored by Leica Microsystems
During this webcast, we will present recent advances in targeted cell
labelling, tissue clearing, and fluorescence imaging methods for the study
of brain function.
These exciting methods are helping to accelerate the understanding of how
individual cells and complex neural circuits interact both structurally and
functionally.
A general overview of sample preparation and clearing methods that
facilitate whole brain imaging will be presented. We will explore the
application of these methods from the perspective of learning and memory,
describing a novel cell labelling technique as well as optogenetic
inhibition of memory expression.
Watching this webcast will aid your understanding of new methods that can be
applied to your neuroscience research.
You will also have the opportunity to ask questions of our speakers, live
during the broadcast!
