We are a multi-user Facility and I fear that laser/s and fluorescent light source will be left on when the microscope is not needed if we tell people to keep the main switch on. Is there a way to separate the Pecon heating control from the Zeiss system? I have contacted Pecon through Pecon.biz website twice over the last weeks and received no reply - is there a better contact available? Both performance and support is excellent. You may contact them as well. I heard that they recently started their office in US. NO COMMERCIAL INTEREST. There are new ways to do temperature control without having to worry about keeping the microscope, stages and objectives stabilized. The new VAHEAT system from Linnowave GmbH was developed by former researchers at Max Planck. VAHEAT maintains precise temperature control at the sample, in the field of view. No modification to the microscope is needed, the active device fits in the space of a conventional slide. I will go with James' advice and power the heating directly, rather than through the LSM main switch. Would still be good to talk to Pecon direct, if someone had a phone number I would be grateful.
