CoolSNAP EZ camera

We need to upgrade the camera on our inverted Nikon TE300. The
Photometrics CoolSNAP EZ camera is an optiom that seems to be on the
money, but I would appreciate some feedback and/or recommendation on
similarly (in the k$10range) priced cameras. We run MetaView for the
image acquisition.

Thanks, Michal

Re: CoolSNAP EZ camera

Hi Michal,

I don't know about the CoolSnap EZ but we have a CoolSnap HQ2 on our Nikon TiE, I think it's a little more than 10K. I like this camera, I have found it to be quite sensitive for samples with low levels of fluorescence.

As always, not commercial interest.

Best,

Neeraj.

Re: CoolSNAP EZ camera

Hi Michal

We use an older Photometrics ES camera on our Zeiss Axiovert 200M and we use MetaMorph for acquisition.  It's a pretty good camera.  I also took a look at the specs of the CoolSnap EZ and, from my experience, I don't think you'll find anything much better within the 10k limit.

Hope this helps, and no commercial interest

Yevgeniy

Re: CoolSNAP EZ camera

Also, you may want to take a look at the QImaging cameras, they have some pretty nice ones in that price range as well.  We use them on several different systems.
