Saturday March 22, 2014 Albuquerque, New Mexico A Digital Image Processing
Workshop will be held prior to the main ABRF meeting in Albuquerque, NM, on
Saturday March 22, 2014, and will be led by Dr. John C. Russ,
internationally-acclaimed imaging educator and scholar

lectures and hands-on training. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own

Association (CCMA). The deadline for this award is January 15.

o Noise reduction/filtering - Gaussian smoothing, bilateral, median;
o Adjusting image contrast histogram stretching, gamma equalization;
o Enhancement of image details - local equalization, derivatives, high
pass;
o Thresholding and object detection - automatic, color, seed-fill;
o Morphological operators - classic and conditional, watershed,
skeletonization;
o Measurements - stereological, volume, surface area, length;
o Data analysis - classification, correlation, statistical
summary/plots.
