Apply now for the 2021 (Virtual) ESRIC Super Resolution Summer School!

Course dates: 8th-11th & 14th-16th June 2021

Application Deadline: 7th May 2021

Virtual Course Fee: £50 (in-person course usually costs £650 without accommodation or £950 with)
The ESRIC super-resolution summer school is designed to give participants a thorough grounding in super-resolution microscopy in an informal and intimate setting. The course is being held 8 - 11 June and 14 - 16 June 2021.
The 2021 course will be held virtually for seven days split over two weeks to allow for shorter days. As with previous in-person iterations of the summer school, the 2021 course will consist of informal lectures and workshops, and will offer participants ample time to gain project specific advice from all of the academic experts and suppliers through dedicated Q&A sessions and informal social events.  It brings together leading academics and the major suppliers of super-resolution microscopes to provide expertise and guidance in the theory, practise and analysis of techniques including structured illumination microscopy (SIM), stimulated emission depletion microscopy (STED), single molecule localization microscopies (PALM, sptPALM and dSTORM), and minimal photon fluxes (MinFlux) imaging.  Participants will also be able to send in their own samples for testing on ESRIC systems in the weeks following the course. The summer school is suitable for anyone with prior experience of fluorescence microscopy looking to exploit the benefits of super-resolution microscopy in their research.
This year, we will have two funded places available for promising pre-PhD researchers or for early career technical staff who do not have access to funding to cover the £50 course fee.
Full information about the course programme including speakers and industry partners is available at the ESRIC Summer School website<http://www.esricsummerschool.org/>. Applications should be submitted via the RMS event page<https://www.rms.org.uk/rms-event-calendar/2021-events/esric-virtual-summer-school-2021.html>. The deadline for applications is the 7th of May 2021 – apply now to avoid missing out!
