To join, leave or search the confocal microscopy listserv, go to: http://lists.umn.edu/cgi-bin/wa?A0=confocalmicroscopy ***** I have a Deltavision deconvolution microscope. All components are from 2001 and the unit was donated to us. The software upgrade costs an arm and a leg and we are a nonprofit. Can anyone please send me some links to freeware that they recommend? Thanks! |

To join, leave or search the confocal microscopy listserv, go to: http://lists.umn.edu/cgi-bin/wa?A0=confocalmicroscopy ***** I like the "Deconvolution Lab" of the Biomedical Imaging Group at the École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne. It is a free ImageJ plug-in. link: http://bigwww.epfl.ch/algorithms/deconvolution/ Good luck, Kolja _____________________________ Kolja Wawrowsky, PhD Director Light Microscopy Core Cedars-Sinai Medical Center 8700 Beverly Blvd Davis 6068 Los Angeles, CA 90048 ph: 310-849-5291 lab: 310-423-4429 e-mail: [hidden email] On Dec 5, 2012, at 4:12 PM, Heather Bowden <[hidden email]> wrote: > ***** > To join, leave or search the confocal microscopy listserv, go to: > http://lists.umn.edu/cgi-bin/wa?A0=confocalmicroscopy > ***** > > I have a Deltavision deconvolution microscope. To join, leave or search the confocal microscopy listserv, go to: http://lists.umn.edu/cgi-bin/wa?A0=confocalmicroscopy ***** Heather, Do you also need microscope control software to move the stage and operate the camera etc? In that case you should check out micromanager. www.*micro-manager*.org/ It is free and runs in ImageJ. To join, leave or search the confocal microscopy listserv, go to: http://lists.umn.edu/cgi-bin/wa?A0=confocalmicroscopy ***** Heather, You do not mention why you want to update the software. If you install freeware you will just have a fairly routine Olympus microscope instead of the tightly-integrated Deltavision system. Assuming that you are not upgrading hardware, and it doesn't sound like you are, the 2001 software will do everything you need. Deconvolution algorithms haven't changed much in that time. Sure, you will be running an out-of-date OS but why does that matter in a single-purpose system? Maybe someone who has tried to control a Deltavision with MM will chime in but you can check out the "Devices" page at http://www.micro-manager.org to see if it can control your components. Is your Deltavision composed from hardware (stage, camera, microscope, filter wheels, etc.) of known brands/models? -Esteban On 12/5/12, Heather Bowden <[hidden email]> wrote: > ***** > To join, leave or search the confocal microscopy listserv, go to: > http://lists.umn.edu/cgi-bin/wa?A0=confocalmicroscopy > ***** > > I have a Deltavision deconvolution microscope. To join, leave or search the confocal microscopy listserv, go to: http://lists.umn.edu/cgi-bin/wa?A0=confocalmicroscopy ***** Thank you for your suggestions. There is a problem with the microscope software (SoftWorx). It will not sync to any part of the microscope. The hardware works fine. API wants $4,500 to attempt to fix the software. They emphasize that the entire system is outdated (even the microscope stand). They encourage me to buy an entire new system ($130K). The unit itself is assembled with parts from API, although I don't know the source of each part. It was donated and did not come with a parts list. But I could look up the individual components. However, it's the software that is the problem. I see that deconvolution can be performed with DeconvolutionLab. But this doesn't help with the driver. Post-donation, the whole thing was also assembled and tested by API. They insist that it worked after installation... Does anyone have a not-too-old confocal they would like to donate to a non-profit? :) Thank you, Heather On Wed, Dec 5, 2012 at 9:23 PM, Guy Cox <[hidden email]> wrote: > ***** > To join, leave or search the confocal microscopy listserv, go to: > http://lists.umn.edu/cgi-bin/wa?A0=confocalmicroscopy > ***** > > Heather, > > You do not mention why you want to update the software.
