Dear listers,
A user of our facility came time ago with samples labelled for RNA FISH
with Quasar570. Company website (
https://www.biosearchtech.com/quasar-570-carboxylic-acid) states: "Quasar
570 is an indocarbocyanine which fluoresces in the yellow-orange region of
the visible spectrum; it excites at 548 nm and emits at 570 nm. This
compound is a direct replacement for Cy™3" Company states this is a
replacement for Cy3."
So it belongs to the cyanine family of fluorochromes, but I am not a
chemist and I cannot see what is different between Quasar570 and Cy3 beyond
the commercial name and/or if it is similar to other orange/red
fluorochromes as Alexa555 or Alexa568, so I would thank a lot if somebody
could point me out this.
Thank you very much in advance,
Xavi.
