Hey Microscopists,
I've recently designed a dual laser/LED controller that may be of
interest to some of you. It accepts a manual, analog, or TTL input and
uses it to drive one of two analog outputs (0-5V 12-bit resolution) with
just a 5-10 μs latency. It also includes an OLED display and a built in
user interface to allow for stand-alone operation. The heart of the
controller is an Arduino driving a two-channel 12-bit DAC. The operating
manual, Arduino code, parts list, fritzing schematic, and pictures of the
setup can all be found here:
https://github.com/Llamero/Dual_laser_controller-Arduino A picture of the setup can also be found here:
https://goo.gl/ekxZsv The Arduino code also contains a set of functions to drive the OLED
display, which involves bit-banging SPI, which may be helpful by itself for
other projects.
If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to send them
my way.
Cheers,,
Ben Smith
