Yes, it integrates the brightfield light source and the T-PMT detector but the savings is not significant (depending upon how tight of budget you have). Also, image quality is somewhat sample dependent and T-PMT images will always look better. I don't know if Zeiss has introduced a new version of ESID, but the ones that came out with the LS800 (back in 2015) were not giving the same image quality as that of a standard T-PMT. I do believe that T-PMT is better than ESID. The vendor says they can offer either of them at the same price.
