Register by January 10, 2014 to receive the reduced rate. Please join us for the next Association of Biomolecular Resource Facilities (ABRF) meeting to be held in Albuquerque, New Mexico, from March 22-25, 2014. This premier international conference is dedicated to advancing core facilities, instrument quality control metrics and technology development. The theme for the 2014 meeting is Team Science and Big Data Cores at the Frontier. More information at http://conf.abrf.org. In addition to the main meeting, a Digital Image Processing Pre-meeting Workshop will be held prior to the main ABRF meeting on Saturday March 22, 2014, and will be led by the internationally-acclaimed imaging educator and scholar, Dr. John C. Russ. (http://www.drjohnruss.com/) Each day of the main meeting (March 23-25) will have its own scientific theme with symposia and panel discussions on key aspects of light microscopy research and developments: 1) Sunday March 23, Intra-vital Imaging 2) Monday March 24, Meso-imaging (Light Sheet, OPT) 3) Tuesday March 25, Medium/high throughput imaging and handling of large data sets. Share instrument grant workshop sponsored by NIH & NSF Confirmed speakers in the light microscopy track include the following: Keith Lidke, University of New Mexico Kurt Anderson, The Beatson Institute for Cancer Research, Glasgow Andrés Santos, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid Kevin Eliceiri, University of Wisconsin Spencer Shorte, Institut Pasteur Lani Wu, University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center And if that isnt enough motivation to attend, the conference will also include a meeting of the Light Microscopy Research Group describing results of an international study on microscope standardization and quality control and a round table discussion about international imaging networks; scientific sessions and roundtable discussions focused on contemporary light microscopic techniques and applications; administrative sessions addressing core facility operations and management; workshops on writing successful instrumentation grants; vendor exhibits and of course, great networking for imaging core personnel. Please mark your calendars. If you are a core facility professional, then you wont want to miss this meeting! We are confident that it will provide relevant and useful information for directors and managers of core facilities as well as other professionals utilizing light microscopy. We look forward to seeing you there!
