We want the filter wheel to be compact so that it can be attached to the side port of a Zeiss Axiovert 200 (or Axio observer). Some of the standard filter wheels that I looked at are big. Our microscope and excitation/emission optics are all sitting on an optical table and we are concerned that to attach the big filter wheel to the side port, we may need to raise the microscope by a significant amount (i.e., several inches) from the bread-board level. I did come across a compact filter wheel - Optospin IV from Cairn Research, which might do the job. I would greatly appreciate if anyone can share their experience with this product (or company). Specifically, I'd like to hear about the product-quality (e.g., frequent motor/belt problems) and issues, if any, with software control (we are using custom written C/C++ code). Thanks! Sripad |

(I'm assuming you want it motorized?) http://www.thorlabs.com/NewGroupPage9.cfm?ObjectGroup_ID=2945 http://www.edmundoptics.com/products/displayproduct.cfm?productid=2884 The Edmund one in particular is fairly thin. I hope these links help! The optical port for the filter is on the lower face of the wheel housing. No need to raise the scope, but it is tight clearance with the focus knobs unless an infinity space extender is used.
