Announcing FOM2019:
                                        FOCUS ON MICROSCOPY 2019
                                             London, April 14-17, 2019
                                                      incorporating:
                         31st International Conference on Confocal Microscopy
               32nd International Conference on 3D Image Processing in Microscopy

Dear Colleagues,

Tuesday, January 22, 2019: deadline abstract submission for FOM2019. The London conference is nearing. Please submit your abstract by this date.

Abstracts for oral and poster presentations can be submitted through the conference website: http://www.FocusOnMicroscopy.org where also hotel information is available.

Due to technical problems the opening of the registration on the webite has been delayed but we expect it to be available by mid January. Note: abstracts can be submitted without previous registration.

After the successful FOM2018 conference held in Singapore last year, it is a pleasure to announce FOM2019: the next in a series of unique interdisciplinary meetings on advanced and multi-dimensional light microscopy and image processing. The conference will take place at;

The Queen Elizabeth II (QEII) conference centre
Broad Sanctuary, Westminster, London SW1P 3EE, UK<https://qeiicentre.london/getting-here/>
located adjacent to the Big Ben, the Parliament building and Westminster Abbey.

The FOM2019 London conference will start on Sunday morning 14 April with (free) tutorials starting 10:30 hrs. After lunch regular sessions begin at 14:00 hrs. followed by a flash poster presentation session at 16:00 hrs. The plenary opening session will start around 17:30 hrs. followed by a welcome reception.

For further details please visit the FOCUS ON MICROSCOPY website: www.FocusOnMicroscopy.org<http://www.focusonmicroscopy.org/> There, in addition to general information, the scientific program of previous FOM conferences – together with PDF’s of presented abstracts - can be found under the link “Past conferences”.

If you wish to be kept informed, please leave your email address at www.FocusOnMicroscopy.org/stayinformed <http://www.FocusOnMicroscopy.org/stayinformed> .

FOM2019 in London will be the continuation of a yearly conference series (since 1988) on the latest innovations and developments predominantly in optical microscopy and their application in biology, medicine, and the material sciences.

Key topics are:

  *   Theory and practice of confocal and multiphoton-excitation microscopy
  *   Super-resolution, nanoscopy imaging: from PSF engineering (4pi, SIM, STED), fluorescent activation/quenching, stochastic/centroid (PALM, STORM, GSDIM, SOFI and related techniques) to TIRF
  *   3D and 4D live cell and tissue imaging
  *   Adaptive optics for microscopy
  *   Light sheet microscopy
  *   Phase/interference based microscopies
  *   OCT, holographic, endoscopy
  *   Advanced fluorescence imaging/spectroscopy: FRET, FRAP, FLIM, FCS, SOFI
  *   New fluorescence probes, proteins, quantum dots, single molecule imaging
  *   Clearing and expansion techniques.
  *   Coherent non-linear microscopies: SHG, THG, SFG, CARS.
  *   Multi-dimensional fluorescence and Raman spectroscopy imaging
  *   Correlated light/electron microscopy
  *   Laser manipulation and tracking, photo-activation
  *   OCT, endoscopy
  *   Fast acquisition, automated and high-content microscopy
  *   3D image processing, analysis and visualization for multidimensional data

The conference series is in addition known for covering the rapid development of advanced fluorescence labelling techniques for (super)- resolution and multi-photon 3D imaging of -live- biological specimens.

Abstracts for contributions are invited and can be submitted from via the website: www.FocusOnMicroscopy.org<http://www.FocusOnMicroscopy.org> where further information on the present and previous FOM conferences can be found.

Important dates:
Deadline for the submission of abstracts             January 22, 2019
Acceptance of abstracts, program on the web     February 15, 2019
Deadline for early registration                              March 7, 2019
FOM2019 Conference                                          April 14 - April 17, 2019
Easter Sunday 2019                                             April 21, 2019

Welcoming you to the London FOM2019 conference and exhibition,

Hello list,
I have a severe problem to upload my submission on the FOM site. All I
get is this error message:

*Uploading and processing...
ADODB.Command****error '800a0d5d'****
****Application uses a value of the wrong type for the current
operation.****
****/Submit/SubmitAbstract.asp**, line 382
*
Yes its a single sided pdf, only 127 KB, everything within the online
form is filled in accordingly. I've tried it from three different
computers either using Fiorefox or Edge Browser...

I would highly appreciate help on this issue.

THX in advance
Ralf
