Authors have been informed individually by email on the placement of their contribution in the program. Please note the March 11 deadline for reduced fee early registration.

Tutorial workshops are offered before the start of the conference on Sunday April 13, in the afternoon from 14:00 to 16:45. Subjects and speakers are:

  *   Fundamentals of fluorescence imaging (G.C. Cox, University of Sydney, Australia)
  *   Software for reconstruction and analysis of light sheet microscopy datasets (Stephan Preibisch, Einstein college, NY, USA; Pavel Tomancak, Max Planck Institute, Dresden, Germany; Fernando Amat, Janelia Farms, Ashburn, Virginia, USA)
  *   How to find the right camera for a microscopy application (Gerhard Holst, PCO, Germany and Eiji Toda, Hamamatsu, Japan)
  *   Correlative light and electron microscopy (CLEM) - ultrastructure lights up (P. Verkade, B. Giepmans, W. Voorhout, S. Kinder & F. Braet )

After the successful FOM2013 conference held in Maastricht, FOM2014 is the next in a series of unique interdisciplinary meetings on advanced multi-dimensional light microscopy and image processing. The upcoming Focus on Microscopy conference will take place in Sydney, Australia, in the week before Easter from Sunday April 13 to Wednesday April 16, 2014.

FOM2014 is the continuation of a yearly conference series, started in 1988, presenting the latest innovations and newest trends in optical microscopy, and their application in biology, medicine, and materials sciences.

At the 2014 conference the topic “Correlated and integrated light electron microscopy” will receive special attention.

The conference series is in addition known for covering the rapid development of advanced fluorescence labeling techniques for confocal and multi-photon 3D imaging of -live- biological specimens.

A technical exhibition will be an integral part of the Sydney FOM 2014 conference.
