In the context of FRAP,
I would appreciate suggestions and literature references about fluorophores that are easy to photobleach.

Once I found NBD bleaching very quickly. The fluorophore was used to label
PE.

Hi Jeremy, I had good experience with tdTomato.  It has decent brightness, it bleaches well, red light causes less phototoxicity at photon fluxes needed for bleaching, and the red wavelength lets you use a green fluorophore/FP as a counterstain.  I published a relevant experiment in Nature Chem Bio (2011) 5:278.  It's one of the supplemental figs.

Best,

Hi Jeremy,

I like AcGFP- it bleaches quite easily, especially compared to other green FPs.  Old school wtGFP does too, but it's far dimmer.
