Hello All,
The Association of Biomolecular Resource Facilities (ABRF) Light Microscopy Research Group (LMRG) is relaunching our study to establish metrics for measuring resolution, spherical aberration, sensitivity and signal-to-noise within a 3D test sample and we need your help!
Specifically, we need volunteers with a laser scanning confocal system to perform a relatively simple imaging protocol and send us the resulting data. If you decide to participate in our study, you will receive a free sample preparation kit and a complete preparation and imaging protocol. Your job will be to prepare the two samples (microspheres in a 100 μm thick tissue-mimetic environment, mounted between a slide and coverslip) and acquire a minimum of three z-stacks. The sample preparation should only take ~30 min. and imaging the minimum number of z-stacks should take ~ 2-3 h. The data you generate will be compiled with data from labs around the world and analyzed by the LMRG to develop better standards for assessing microscope performance in 3D samples.
If you would like to participate in the study, please fill out the Google form found at:
https://goo.gl/forms/6zx3HentUNRTyWtO2
The form will be open until August 7th 12 pm EST, 2017.
Please feel free to email me if you have any question.
Sincerely,
Erika (Tse-Luen) Wee, PhD
