FV 300 to multiphoton

Is there any group successfully upgrade an Olympus FV 300 confocal system
to a non-descanned two-photon imaging system? I have a hard time to have
the
detector work in full range.

Thanks for any input.

Re: FV 300 to multiphoton

I don't really understand your question.  What do you mean by 'work in
full range'?  Vignetting?  Prof Min Gu at Swinburne University has done
this conversion, I think, and you could contact him directly.  Nuno
Moreno, Jose Feijo and I fitted a transmitted NDD to an old Bio-Rad MRC
1024 with no real problems Nuno Moreno, Jose Feijo & Guy Cox, 2004.
Implementation and evaluation of a detector for forward propagated
second harmonic signals.  Micron, 35, 721-724.  The key thing to avoid
vignetting is that the NDD must be at, or conjugate with, a back focal
plane.

Good afternoon,

we've done it twice here in Oslo.

Ref.:

G. Nase, P.J. Helm, O.P.Ottersen (2005),
A multiphoton laser scanning microscope setup for transcranial in vivo
brain imaging on mice,
Review of Scientific Instruments 76:123702-1-123702-5

and

P. J. Helm, T. Reppen, P. Heggelund (2009),
A setup for combined multi photon laser scanning microscopic and multi
electrode patch clamp experiments on brain slices,
Proc. SPIE 7183:71832Q-1 - 71832Q-8

Both setups are fully operational and in use.

Best wishes,

Johannes
