Senior position: Microscopy Facility Manager:
The Diamantina Institute for Cancer, Immunology and Metabolic Medicine is a newly created Institute of the University of Queensland. The Institute is focused on Translational Research, which is about producing better outcomes for patient treatment. It is comprised of nearly 200 researchers and students, and is based at the Princess Alexandra Hospital teaching campus. The research activities of the ten Research Teams are divided into three major Programs – Immunology, Cancer Cell Biology and Metabolism.
The Role: The successful applicant will develop and maintain the microscopy infrastructure for the Institute, train users, and develop high end applications and quantitative image analysis for wide field, confocal, live cell time lapse and multiphoton microscopy, and high content imaging of biological specimens and animals.
The Person: Applicants should possess a Science degree with Honours in an appropriate biological science, and extensive microscopy and image analysis experience. You should also have good management and communications skills, and the capacity to work collaboratively with colleagues.
Remuneration: This is a full-time, fixed term appointment for 3 year in the first instance, at Academic Level B/C. The remuneration package will be in the range of: $83,592.99 to $96,387.65 per annum base salary for a package of $97,803.80 to $112,773.55 per annum including employer superannuation contributions of 17%.
