FX mono camera on windows 10

Hello,

We are trying to assemble a widefield mic around an Axio200M stage and
Metamorph software.

For that, we have gathered several old devices that work OK but are
rather old. This is the case of a Photometrics CoolSnap FX monochrome
camera that talks to the PC through PVCAM driver and PCIe LVDS card
(from Photometrics).

We are having problems (slow communication and MM hangs) setting up the
camera in windows 10 Prof 64bit.

I wonder if anyone has faced a similar challenge and has found a solution.

Hi Javier,

That LVDS board is only supported in Windows 7 64 bit.

Dear Javier,

One problem we identified with the older type photometrics cameras that use
that card, is that the card itself generates a lot of heat. If we used what
our IT people then called "grey boxes", computers assembled by local
computer shops, the computer would regularly crash without warning. It took
us ages to work out what was happening. The PC's CPU would get too hot and
switch itself off. Installing an extra cabinet fan fixed the problem. After
that most of the microscope vendors moved to suggesting HP workstations, at
the time HP had just moved over to compartmentalisation of their boxes to
improve heat management. This may not be your issue, but try it with the
side panels of your PC removed, to see if the problem improves.
