Facilities Leasing or Renting instruments

In these days of shrinking funding how many facilities in the world are
using these alternative means to provide instruments to their users?
I would like to hear of your experiences and what mechanism you used, ie
direct from manufacturer or through third-party leasing agent. It would
also be great if you could indicate how your facility charges users, just
in general - full cost recovery, subsidised, etc
I am aware this may be a sensitive topic for some so welcome responses
off-list too.
Cheers,
Stephen

Hi Steve,

how are you?

The fees and rates for microscopy found from open sources are being
collected here:
http://confocal-manawatu.pbworks.com/w/page/40058040/Microscopy%20Fees

It would be nice to have the best practices of your interest added to
the list as well.

Have a nice weekend,
Dmitry

All,
You might want to look at the Science Exchange site.  They have a number
of labs listed along with their fees for service.
