The Argon laser showed signs of failing (i.e., weak power, flicking) before it could not be turn on (stay in the standby mode) last week. This laser is approximately four years old but only used infrequently until last year (~1000 hours last year). Additionally, the temperature in the microscope room can varied by > 5 degrees (Celsius) during summer operation. We are not currently covered by Zeiss service contract so that any advice for fixing/replacing the laser will be greatly appreciated.
