*The 2012 QB3-UCSF Course in Biological Light Microscopy*
*March 26-April 1*
*Nikon Imaging Center, Genentech Hall, UCSF Mission Bay*
This course will provide an intensive introduction to the theory and
practice of light microscopy. Register to learn the fundamental
principles and cutting edge techniques required to optimize microscopy
for your research needs.
Experts from the Nikon Imaging Center will give hands-on instruction in
the latest imaging techniques and instruments, including brightfield
contrasting; fluorescence microscopy and probes; confocal microscopy;
TIRF; two-photon, FRAP/FLIP/photoconversion; and super-resolution
microscopy. The course will cover everything from fundamentals like the
physical principles of microscope operation and image formation to
sample preparation and choosing the right imaging modality for your
application.
Laboratory work and lectures will be held at the UCSF Mission Bay
campus. Course tuition is $2,295, including lunch, dinner and
transportation to and from the host hotel daily. Stipends for travel and
hotel accommodations are available.
