I will be giving a free webinar on "Making figures in seconds using a
Photoshop add-on," Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 12:30pm CST. If you
make figures and plates for presentation in Powerpoint, for publication
or for reports, this may be valuable to you.

Description: Make figures using an add-on script for Photoshop (CS and
CC versions) that automatically lays out figures/plates from images in a
folder.  It puts the A, B, C, etc on the images and keeps these on
separate layers.  It works by choosing the resolution of Image A, and
then matching that resolution for subsequent images, fitting in the /x/
or /y/ dimension, whichever is greatest.  It can lay out 12 images in
about 30 seconds, letters included.  Works on Mac or PC.

Another script takes you through automatic and interactive steps to add
arrows and other symbols, create inserts, add scale bars, and so on.
Even as an expert in Photoshop, I use the scripts all the time to
produce figures so I'm not spending hours at it, looking at the time,
wishing I could get on to something else more productive.  Sound familiar?

Cheers,
Jerry Sedgewick
