Cameras, filters, shutters, motorized stages, and automated microscopes are
state of the art for biological research. These tools allow capturing complex
multidimensional data sets including multiple dyes, Z-stacks, time series, and
many locations on a slide. However, configuring these acquisitions to run
correctly involves handling many pieces of hardware from multiple
manufacturers. Controlling this hardware and sequencing it correctly requires
proper configuration
