To join, leave or search the confocal microscopy listserv, go to: http://lists.umn.edu/cgi-bin/wa?A0=confocalmicroscopy ***** Montpellier RIO Imaging facility and the Institute of Human Genetics are seeking a highly qualified and motivated Scientific Officer/Research Engineer to administer and develop their new Applied Precision OMX structured illumination microscope (see Schermelleh et al. (2008) Science 320:1332 and Carlon et al. (2010) PNAS 16016-16022 + supp material). TThe Montpellier RIO Imaging facility (HTTUwww.mri.cnrs.frUT <http://www.mri.cnrs.fr/>TH) is a distributed, ISO:9001 facility located in Montpellier (France) and dedicated to light/electron microscopy, X-Ray tomography and flow cytometry. It is used by approx. 600 users over the city. It's Insitute of Human Genetics site hosts state-of-the-art fluorescence microscopes and analysis workstations used by 150 users. TTThe local facility Tis at the heart of a world-class research biomedical campus. T For further details, please visit HTTUhttp://campus-adv.igh.cnrs.fr/UTH. TThe Institute of Human Genetics and nearby Institute of Functional Genomics enjoy a dynamic and international scientific life dedicated to epigenetics and genome dynamics, developmental biology, neurobiology, molecular endocrinology and cardiology. The facility develops links with the nearbyT Structural Biology Center and its instrumentation research groups (see HTUhttps://sites.google.com/site/smbmontpellier2/home/technologies/super-resolution-microscopyUTH). TThe candidate, educated to PhD level (or alternatively MSc. with a strong light microscopy experience), will be in charge of installation of the device, Tmaintenance and troubleshooting of the equipment, in contact with the supplier (hardware and softwares for image acquisition, reconstruction and analysis), Tsupport for users of the facility and technical developments (instrumentation/biology). TAdditional responsibilities include redaction of simplified user's manual and description of software and hardware development (as well as potential publication arising from this). TThe candidate will also develop Macros either for instrument implementation or to meet specific user needs. The candidate will be in charge of Tone-on-one consultation, training and assistance of users in image acquisition, processing and analysis.T His/her work will be placed under the supervision of the facility manager Julien Cau.
