GROUP LEADER POSITION Advanced Light Microscopy

Generous core support and an outstanding environment

The Cancer Research UK Beatson Institute is one of Europe's leading cancer research centres, supporting cutting edge research focused on imaging in areas such as cancer metabolism, microenvironment, invasion and metastasis. Our outstanding research environment is underpinned by state-of-the-art core services and advanced technologies, including highly resourced facilities for light microscopy.

We are now recruiting a Group Leader to develop an independent research programme in cancer imaging and to oversee and expand our world class imaging facility. We invite applications from successful and highly motivated scientists who will lead an exciting programme of research in cancer imaging.

Beatson advanced imaging resource (BAIR) provides state of the art live cell imaging and in vivo imaging, including multiphoton, TIRF, FLIM and FRET (http://www.beatson.gla.ac.uk/advanced-technologies/beatson-advanced-imaging-resource- bair.html).

Suitable candidates should be leaders in developing imaging based methods as well as qualified to manage a world-class multi-user light microscopy imaging facility. The successful candidate will lead a team with a dual research and service function for advanced imaging. We offer a generous package that includes a competitive personal salary and funding to support postdocs and students (number depending on seniority) with running costs (this is in addition to the salaries of the 3-4 member BAIR team and the equipment costs involved in running the facility), and high quality lab space with room for expansion. Further information on our research activities, infrastructure and facilities is available on our website www.beatson.gla.ac.uk<http://www.beatson.gla.ac.uk>

Expressions of interest, including CV and a brief outline of future research plans should be sent to Professor Karen Vousden(k. [hidden email]<mailto:[hidden email]>) ; Informal Enquiries to Professor Laura Machesky ([hidden email]<mailto:[hidden email]>)
