Hello folks,

we have a group leader position "Imaging in vascular biology" at the
Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich to fill. If you know somebody
appropriate who is interested in blood vessels, please forward her or
him this anouncement (but don't forward this or the application to the
list ;-) )

Thanks for your help

Steffen

The Walter-Brendel-Zentrum für Experimentelle Medizin
(www.wbex.med.uni-muenchen.de <http://www.wbex.med.uni-muenchen.de/>) at
the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, Munich, Germany, is home to
several research groups working on vascular biology (e.g. inflammation,
vessel wall signaling, angiogenesis, and adaptive vascular growth).
Within the Bioimaging-Network Munich (www.bin.lmu.de) and to strengthen
our bioimaging capabilities, we now offer a

Group leader position: Imaging in vascular biology

Potential fields of work include but are not limited to

- Multi-photon microscopy of blood vessels

- Label-free microscopy of intact tissues(SHG, THG)

- Dynamic imaging of vascular cell signaling processes

- Deep tissue intravital microscopy of the microcirculation

- Vascular development and adaptation

We offer a stimulating environment with several research groups
interested in collaborations and broad experience in intravital
microscopy. In-house access to a multi-photon-microscope, a standard
confocal microscope and several other microscope workstations (including
calcium signaling and time lapse microscopy) is available. Animal models
include mouse and Xenopus (tadpoles). The position is funded for four
years. We intend to support the group with a PhD-positions and technical
assistance. The successful applicant is expected to secure grants for
additional funds.

The successful candidate has a strong background in vascular biology and
imaging techniques. The University of Munich is an equal opportunity
employer and aims to increase the number of female scientist members.
Therefore, applications from female candidates are explicitly encouraged.

Disabled candidates with essentially equal qualifications will be given
preference.

The University supports dual career couples.

Please submit your application in English or German including a one-page
research program to the Walter-Brendel-Zentrum at
[hidden email]

Electronic applications are preferred. Please include all materials in
one file (pdf, doc, rtf)
