To join, leave or search the confocal microscopy listserv, go to: http://lists.umn.edu/cgi-bin/wa?A0=confocalmicroscopy ***** Dear List, We have plenty of experience using a PECON incubator on our Axiovision set up, and while we like the dual stage-top and cage incubator approach, we aren't too keen on the price. Recently I got a local workshop to adapt the design for the cage incubator to an adjacent Nikon scope, and now we just swap across the stage top incubator, connect the hose to the acrylic box, and transfer the temp probe, and it works just fine. The cost of the acrylic box was 500 USD. Now we need to outfit something similar for two Oympus IX81, but these are in a different part of the building. So while the acrylic box isn't a problem, I now need to find the other components. I have two questions: Stage-top incubator with CO2 regulation: Does anybody have any experience with Bioscience Tools (www.biosciencetools.com) products, especially their stage-top incubators? Their prices are attractive, to say the least. Air heater w/ temp controller: Does anybody know of a source for a sensor- regulated heater for a cage-style incubator? Many thanks for your help, I'm sure the replies will be generally useful for those that by choice or otherwise have to homebrew their systems. I invite you to visit the Bioptechs web site to download and fill out our user profile questionnaire from the home page. www.bioptechs.com http://www.bioptechs.com/ProfileQuestions.pdf Bioptechs takes a very detailed approach to your micro-environmental needs. We don't just sell you something that heats. That is why we need this amount of information. We don't want your IP. We just want enough information to fully understand your setup and the needs of your protocol. We will then contact you to clarify any additional details and propose solutions for systems to meet your needs. We can also provide demo systems to allow you to be confident that the systems will perform as intended. You also might find some good ideas in our online reference search page.
