Postdoctoral and graduate positions in quantitative molecular imaging*

Two postdoctoral positions and one postgraduate research assistant post,
funded by the Wellcome Trust and the Medical Research Council to carry
out cross-disciplinary studies in the field of membrane trafficking and
exocytosis are available immediately. The work will involve cutting-edge
single molecule imaging techniques, and projects are available in the
following areas:

-Patterning of membrane proteins at the molecular level

-Regulation of SNARE protein interactions and function

-Quantification of membrane lipid microdomains

-Quantifying single vesicle dynamics

Applicants should have obtained a PhD or should expect to obtain a PhD
in the near future, for the post-doctoral positions. Knowledge of
membrane trafficking is desirable as is experience in at least one of
the following techniques: molecular biology and cDNA manipulation
techniques, cell culture and live cell imaging. The successful applicant
will have an outstanding academic track record and have published at
least one first-authored paper in a well-respected journal. Applicants
for the post-graduate position should have an Honours degree in a life
science discipline, and experience of cDNA manipulation techniques. It
may be possible for the Graduate Research Assistant to register for a
