Time-lapse label-free imaging cytometry is a technology based on quantitative kinetic analysis of phase images of unlabeled cells. Technology developers and expert users will define phase imaging parameters associated with specific biology (mitosis, cell growth and various cell phenotypes) and provide an overview of diverse applications, from monitoring the effects of pharmaceutical compounds on tumor cells in 2D and 3D in vitro models to the use of holographic imaging coupled with machine learning algorithms to accurately detect changes in oncogenic phenotypes of both patient-derived and engineered human melanoma lines with single cell resolution. There is no fee to participate but the organizers would appreciate if you could RSVP to [hidden email] so a sufficient amount of food and refreshments can be provided. When: Thursday, Feb 18th, 2:00 - 5:00pm (seminar) and 5.00pm – 8.00pm (discussion over refreshments and hors-d'oeuvres in the Atrium) Where: UCSF Mission Bay Campus, Genentech Hall N114 600 16th St, San Francisco, CA Agenda: 2:00 - 2:15pm – OPENING and WELCOME, Dr. Robert Judson, UCSF Sandler Faculty Fellow and NIH Early Independence Award Fellow. 2:15 - 2:45pm – HOLOMONITOR M4 – HOLOGRAPHIC IMAGING CYTOMETER FOR REAL-TIME KINETC LABEL-FREE ANALYSIS OF ANDERENT CELLS, Mikael Sebesta, Head of R&D, Phase Holographic Imaging, Sweden. 2.45 – 3:15pm – HOLOMONITOR M4 – A VERSATILE, SIGNIFICANT AND WELCOMED TOOL IN PHARMACEUICAL COMPOUND DEVELOPMENT, Ed Luther, Core Imaging and Cytometry Facility, Northeastern University, Boston. 3.15 – 4:00pm – SIMULTANEOUS LABEL-FREE DETECTION OF PROLIFERATIVE, MIGRATORY, APOPTOTIC & SENESCENT CELL PHENOTYPES IN HIMAN MELANOMAS, Dr. Robert Judson, UCSF. 4:00 – 4.20pm – HOLOMONITOR M4 – A CORE’S PERSPECTIVE, Dr. Felix Bestvater, Head of the Light Microscopy Facility, German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ), Heidelberg, Germany. 4:20pm – 5:00pm HoloMonitor M4 demonstration 5.00pm – 8.00pm Discussions over refreshments and hors-d'oeuvres in the Atrium. This event is complimentary. Please RSVP to [hidden email] by February 16. |
