Centre Imaging Facility Manager

The MRC Centre for Regenerative Medicine (CRM) is a world leading research
centre based at the University of Edinburgh. Together we study stem cells,
disease and tissue repair to advance human health. Our mission is to gain
fundamental understanding of stem cells, to use this knowledge to improve
human health, and to provide leadership in training the next generation of
basic and clinical scientists in stem cell biology and regenerative medicine
(www.scrm.ed.ac.uk).
You will join the MRC-CRM to coordinate the running of the Imaging Core
Facility. Responsible for the operation and management of this multi-user
facility (www.crm.ed.ac.uk/facilities/imaging-facility), you will advise and
instruct research staff undertaking a variety of imaging projects, and will
provide direct assistance with confocal microscopy. You will be expected to
develop new research applications and techniques, and to participate in
research projects in collaboration with other users. You will have, or
shortly obtain a PhD in a relevant biological or biophysics background and
be experienced in confocal microscopy. Excellent IT, communication,
organisational and record keeping skills are essential. Experience in live
cell imaging would be an advantage. Post is full-time and open ended.
