Dear All,
We have a Leica TCS SP2 (circa 2001; model DM IRBE inverted microscope) that we are trying to reactivate after a 4-year period of dormancy. As far as we can tell, the instrument (including microscope), as well as the computer (including drivers, PCI cards and SCSI drives) are both functioning correctly. However, upon boot-up the Leica software reports that it is unable to initialize the hardware (message: "General Hardware Configuration Error: CScanDataSource"). There is actually limited functionality with the current dongle in place. That is, it is possible to use the instrument in simulator mode, something that is not possible without the dongle. Our question is, whether this is a dongle problem or an indication that something more fundamental to the software is not working. At this stage, Leica is unable to check the efficacy of a dongle or to provide a new one. I'm wondering if anyone has any advice that they could give us.
